Cataloguing Phase Two.

  • February 18, 2016

You may recall that a few weeks ago, in fact on the February 4th, l told you all about the mammoth 2016 task l had engaged upon. This being to resort out my image catalogues, this task includes being extremely ruthless where quality control (sharpness), exposure and composition is concerned. For this task l am exclusively using “Lightroom”. My  catalogues consist of a fully detailed, but not exhaustive “folder and sub-folder” system. Initially l will grade each image in all aspects I use the “Star-rating” system from “0 to 3”, with “3 stars” being my final choice and highest quality before any processing takes place.

My next stage is to process each 3* image in turn with a specific agency/outlet in mind. Once the processing of each image has been completed, I will then re-allocate a “star rating” and colour coding which in turn will correspond with the “Stock Agencies” and additional “Distribution Outlets” l use.

If it isn’t broken, don’t try and fix it!!!
