The Farne Islands

  • August 22, 2019

During May/June 2018, a few good friends and I (including my chef Big Kev!!) decided to visit “The Farne Islands” on the east coast. am off, where I hear you ask.

For those of you who don’t know, the Farne Islands are approximately 45 minutes boat trip from the harbour of “Seahouses” (south of Berwick-On-Tweed). The islands are home to tens of thousands sea birds. To give you some idea, last years records showed that in excess of 75,000 Puffins, plus many mating pairs of Shags, Razorbills and Guillemot’s just to mention but a few.

Little did l know this would be my last visit to the islands, at least for some time.

My Lowepro rucksack went with me to enable me to safely take everything from my 24/70mm f2.8 to my 500mm f4 and tripod.

I always recommended that you do not open you bag/rucksack whilst cruising, due to the spray and splash coming over you, oh yes, wear a waterproof.
